Troubleshooting the Editor

The "Other.." option in the Insert plugin menu, allows you to easily insert videos and photos from a variety of popular online services.  This just relies on the URL of the content, so you don't need to hunt around for the right embed code from each service.  Just copy the web address of the content you wish to add, paste that URL into the plugin, insert the plugin and save the page.  These are just a few of the services that support oEmbed, and whose content can be embedded into a page.

  • YouTube
  • Flickr
  • Viddler
  • Qik
  • Hulu
  • Revision3
  • Vimeo

Follow these steps to use this plugin:

  1. In the editor toolbar, click Insert, and then select the "Other..." plugin from the Video category.

  2. In another tab or browser window, copy the URL of the content you want to embed to the computer's clipboard (press Ctrl+C, or Command+C on the Mac).  In the example, YouTube is used, but many other services can be used with this plugin.

  3. Paste this URL into the plugin, and click Next.

  4. Then click "Insert Plugin" and save the page.

The content will be embedded on the page, using the site's sharing options.
