The starred file system allows users to build a customized list of pages and files that are important to them. It's best for each user to star a few pages inside each workspace, so they have quick access to them through your "My Starred Items" items list in the Dashboard view. No matter where a user is in the service, this list is always at most two clicks away, so starring pages is a great way for a user to get the full benefit of PBworks. Starred Pages are a personal preference. So, a user can star any page, but it won't be starred for any other users of the workspace.
Starring an item also marks it as especially important for a user. When an item you've starred is edited or changed in any way, you will immediately receive an alert via email of the change. These emails are sent as "WORKSPACE TITLE Change Alerts" and are sent immediately, no matter the preference you have set for your notifications.
The pages you "star" while using a workspace, under your user account, will remain starred, no matter what computer you use to access the workspace.
- To star a page, simply click the star next to the page title (see below):
-
Now, the page will show up in your list of starred pages. To see this list, click your Starred Pages in the Navigator in the workspace view.
Starred pages also have a role in your email notifications. If you star a page, the service will immediately email you if the page is edited by another user or commented on.
