Troubleshooting the Editor

The folder contents plugin gives you a way to display the contents of a folder in a simple hierarchy of links (List Format), or as an interactive gallery of file previews (Gallery View).  If you need to list all kinds of items (pages, files and folders), then you should use the List Format only.  Gallery View will only show files in a specific folder that have file previews (images or presentations).  It will not show folders, nor will it show files that are not inside the specific folder the plugin is set to.

Note:  Both of these plugins are "read-only" meaning they will only display content in folders.  They cannot be used to change which folders the contents reside in.  To change the folders, you will have to move them in the file manager.  All of these plugins are tied to the PBworks security system, so a logged in user will only see content they have access to see.  This may result in this plugin displaying different information, depending on who is logged in.

The Folder Contents plugin is found in the Page Information category of the Insert Menu:

In the dialog box, use the dropdown menu to select the folder you want to display.  By default, the plugin will display the pages, files, and folders which are not in any folder.

List Format

In list format, you're given several options as checkboxes as ways to display the data.  Keep all of the options checked to display the complete contents of the folders, or disable some types of content to exempt folders, pages, or files from the list.  To disable the listing of sub-folder content, uncheck the option to show sub-folder content.  Disabling icons will display just the links to specific folders and files.

Example (in view mode):

Gallery View

The Gallery View format has no additional options available.  When the page is saved, the files in the designated folder which have previews available (pictures, PDF files, presentations) are presented in an album style, where users can interactively scroll though thumbnails of images, and click on images to see the full resolution preview of each file.
